One of the others on the forum – “ray” – wrote of “Floral flotillas not serenely drifting away”, during a wake that didn’t go as he would have liked. I responded with this:

Funerals should be in the heavy rain.
Floral flotillas should serenely drift away,
Like steamy platform kisses before the train.
Or cool beer condensating on a sunny day.

Old Movie scenes and stereotypical pain,
Monsters don’t always hide in the dark,
the Bogeyman doesn’t stay in the lane,
Romantic gestures don’t always spark,

but sometimes, just sometimes,
The sunshine gleams when it needs to,
and stars perfectly align,
and I am right there with you.
